Reno Computer Services FAQ

How much do you charge?

I charge $75/hr for On-Site services and $55/hr for Remote services.

If I don't fix your problem you don't pay.

On-Site services have a $99 (about 1.25 hr) minimum.

Remote services have a 30 minute minimum.

To get an estimate for the amount of time a job will take:

  • Most standard jobs take about 1.5 hours, so you can plan on roughly $120.
  • Visit the section of my website that contains the information on the service. I list the average amount of time most of my services take.
  • Contact me. Since situations vary so much, this is the best option because I can get an idea of exactly what you need done.

Are there any mileage charges?

Anything outside of my standard service area will have the clock started when I leave my standard service area. To see my standard service area, see this map.

Certain restrictions may apply that will waive your extra charge:

  • If you job takes longer than 3 hours.
  • If I have more than 1 job in your area. For example, if you live in Carson and I have another job in Carson either before or after yours you will have your extra charge waived.

Do you have to come to my house?

Nope.

I also provide Remote support which allows you to initiate a secure remote session to my computer that will allow me to manipulate your computer as if I were sitting in front of it. As long as you have an active high speed internet connection I can do just about everything remotely that I could do sitting in front of your computer.

You can also bring the computer by my office.

** Please Note  **
I am not always in my office, so please call and make sure I'm going to be in the office before stopping by.

Can I bring my computer to you?

** NEW **

YES!

Sice I now have an office, please feel free to drop your computer off.

** Please Note  **
I am not always in my office, so please call and make sure I'm going to be in the office before stopping by.

What is remote support?

Remote support allows you to initiate a secure remote session to my computer that will allow me to manipulate your computer as if I were sitting in front of it. As long as you have an active high speed internet connection I can do just about everything remotely that I could do sitting in front of your computer.

Is remote support secure?

Remote support is absolutely secure:

  • The only way for me to access your computer is if you initiate the session. Once the current session is terminated I will no longer have any access to your machine.
  • You can terminate the session at any time.
  • Uses end-to-end 256 bit encryption - the same security levels used and trusted by major banking institutions.

Do you have a store?

I don't have a retail store, but I do have an office where I work on computers.

** Please Note  **
I am not always in my office, so please call and make sure I'm going to be in the office before stopping by.
